The Yankeetown-Inglis Woman`s Club is the place to be Saturday, February 18th. Their much anticipated Spaghetti Dinner extravaganza will be in full swing from 4-7pm. Bring your own wine or beer and join us at your neighborhood "Bistro" on 56th St, Yankeetown for a dining experience like no other. A delicious spaghetti dinner with home-made sauce, garlic bread, salad, coffee or tea awaits; $7.00 adults, $3.00 children under 12 and children under 5 are free. For those with a sweet tooth, a wonderful Italian dessert is waiting to finish off your meal. To continue your Italian dining experience at home, don`t forget to pick up a few quarts of delicious sauce for $5.00 each. Contestants, members and guests who attended this year`s annual chili cook off were true to the Eagles motto of "People Helping People". Not to be outdone by the generous donations, the winners also donated their prize money for such a worthy cause.

The Cedar Key Historical Society began it`s monthly coffees on Thursday, January 19th with a presentation by Toni Collins of Chiefland, Fl. Ms. Collins, a renown local historian, captivated the audience with her portrayal of Catharine Hobday. Catharine was appointed to the position of assistant light keeper at the Cedar Key Light Station in September of 1872, one month prior to her 76th birthday. Toni Collins, author of the book: Cedar Keys Light Station, gave the audience a glimps of what life was like during this time and concluded with a most informative question and answer period.
