The 6th Annual CLAMERICA Celebration in Cedar Key is set for Saturday, July 4! Plan to join the many Cedar Keyans who will be there to enjoy all the festivities celebrating the birth of our nation and our sweet and savory farm-raised clams. Events will be taking place all day long, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the City Park. So grab your blankets and lawn chairs and come join in the fun!

A featured event this year is a Shellfish Sand Sculpture, which will be created by Suzanne Altamare, a world champion and Grand Master Sand Sculptor. Suzanne, from Daytona Beach, will begin her sand sculpture on Thursday and finish it in time for all to enjoy at the CLAMERICA Celebration. You can see some examples of Suzanne`s work at her website www.justplainsand.com. Suzanne will give sand-sculpting tips to those planning to enter the amateur sand `n shell contest shortly after noon on Saturday. Suzanne`s artwork has been featured in numerous television programs, newspaper articles, Southern Living Magazine and international shows, as well as corporate events. She is a familiar face on the Travel Channel`s hit show, Sand Blasters. You`re in the right place, as our Celebration was, for the second year in a row, selected as one of the Southeastern Tourism Society`s Top 20 events for the month of July.
