William Mack Bishop

Obituary

William Mack Bishop, a native of Cedar Key, FL passed away on August 18, 2010. He was 84 years old.


He was born on March 10, 1926 in Cedar Key to Joseph and Lillian Bishop. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedar Key. He served in the United States Army during World War II and fought in Germany.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was a son and brother who was always there to help his family. He enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical or electrical. He is survived by his wife Dorothy "Dot" Bishop; sons, Randy Bishop and Gary Bishop (Paula); daughters Phyllis Andrews (Darrell) and Denise Nichols (Mark); brother Jim Bishop (Helen); sisters Kathleen Baker and Joey Crane; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son David Bishop, daughter Wanda Bishop and sister Claudine Maruskin.

The family plans on holding a memorial service on August 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cedar Key with Reverend Todd Pope officiating. The family asks that in Lieu of flowers that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Cedar Key.


Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland.
