This meeting will be between the Taylor County Commissioners, Buckeye and the concerned citizens groups from all over N. Florida lead by the Clear Water Network of Florida.
The waters flowing south through the Dead Zone and can be clearly seen from the air as far south as the North end of the Great Suwannee Reef where the Class II water has been changing into Class III water over the last 3 years.
Exoskeletons such as clams will not reproduce in Class III water, they must have Class II water to grow and prosper. Buckeye pollution had built a ten square mile dead Zone in the Gulf and the flow of the Gulf is south in this area. Since we all know what rolls downhill, it should be no surprise that the Town of Suwannee should begin to feel the effects next.
The dumping of toxic at the rate of 8 billion barrels per day has been going on since 1994. That is over 7,300,000,000 barrels of toxic waste per day dumped into a river that I could throw a silver dollar across and its mouth is only fifteen miles from the Gulf.
Allowing the Fenholloway Dead Zone waste to grow in size and continue flowing south and affecting its neighbors is wrong and illegal. There is no difference in allowing my neighbors waste to start overflowing into my yard and then allowing it to continue to flow over my yard for twenty-five years; I demand better cleanliness from my government than that.
