Daniel McDonald

Obituary

Daniel McDonald of Chiefland/Cedar Key passed away after a tragic motor vehicle accident on April 20, 2010 one day shy of his 73rd birthday. He was born on April 21, 1937 in Newark, New Jersey to Joseph and Nellie McDonald. He moved to the area in 1991 from St. Petersburg, FL. He was of the Catholic faith.

He served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a boat builder most of his life. He worked as a trainer for 10 years with clients at LARC, where he was known as လFix-it Maná€. He was known to sing songs with the clients; he even made up songs about the clients and staff. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, V.F.W. Post 5625, and the Elks Lodge. He loved music, karaoke and fishing.

He is survived by his son Sean McDonald (Meghan Aquino), step-son Ronald Ludovico (Brenda), sisters Josephine and Margaret, grandson Ayden McDonald and many special friends, acquaintances and other family members.

A celebration of his life will be held on May 1, 2010 at 4:00 pm at Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland with Father Joe McDonnell officiating and military services provided by the V.F.W. Post 5625. He will be interred at Florida National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland.
