Garden of Month is Calming Glen

Cedar Key Garden Club

Congratulations to Leslie Sturmer and Chris Taiani of 12260 SW 167th Court for being selected as the Cedar Key Garden Club`s first Garden of the Month of the new decade, AKA January 2010. Their beautiful garden and lawn is a "calming glen" of peace and beauty.

Many different types of plants, both native and tropical add to the aura. Some of them include a large blooming yellow trumpet plant, purple double trumpet plant, native coastal oaks and cedar trees, hibiscus, staghorn fern, banana plants, Mexican petunia, crocus, birds of paradise, frangipani, fuzzy navel, variegated pittosporum, devil`s backbone and large shrimp plants.

Many palms in the garden include coconut palms, Chinese fans and sago palms. Spread throughout this oasis are seating areas, a sculptured fish bird bath, and a deck outlined with flowering potted plants. See attached photos. As always, please give your suggestions for future Gardens of the Month. Barbara and Bob Hudson

Festival Weekend open ALSO for Dinner 6 - 9 pm, amd Late Night 10 pm - 2 am
