Library to Feature Documentary Film on Polygamy

ANNOUNCEMENT

This film will be shown at 7 p.m., Monday, May 19 in the upstairs meeting room at Cedar Key Public Library.

The film was obtained by the library in conjunction with the monthly selection of the Cedar Key Book Club, "Escape," by Carolyn Jessup, who escaped from the polygamist sect with her children. The film was made by Laurie Allen, who escaped the polygamist life at the age of 16 and now works to inform the general public of the activities of the polygamist group FLDS, Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints.

As always, this event is free and open to the public. After the public showing, the film will be added to the library`s circulating collection.
