Lions Give to Clothe A Child

Cedar Key Lions Club

Lion member Billie Carlton presents Laura Robinson with a $500 contribution to Clothe A Child on behalf of the Cedar Key Lions Club.

The Cedar Key Lions Club has contributed $500.00 to provide warm winter clothing for local children in need. Clothe A Child in Cedar Key began in 1995 and has met emergency clothing needs of children with the cooperation of school personnel and community members.

All Cedar Key Churches including First Baptist, United Methodist, Church of Christ, Episcopal and Rosewood Baptist participate. Clothe A Child contributions are needed throughout the year and may be made through any of these churches.

Committee members operating the program in 2008 are Pam Alexander, Billie Carlton, Judy Collins, Judy Duvall, Laura Robinson, Arno Webster and Mary Stone. Additional community volunteers shop for clothing for specific children as needed. Needs are identified by school personnel.

The school, community, and committee thank the Lions Club for their contribution to this local cause.
