Dave Feigin Campaign for State Representative

Editor

Cedar Key News interviewed Dave Feigin on July 29 regarding his campaign as a Republican for the District 10 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.

CKN: How is your campaign going?

Dave Feigin: Pretty good. I was a part of a campaign caravan that visited three towns in the northern part of the district earlier this month. Since then I`ve been to Madison and found good support. Nelson Pryor, a local political journalist has been especially encouraging.

CKN: Do you have any local endorsements?

Dave Feigin: No, but I had an event a few days ago at the Cedar Key Black Dog Bar and Tables. We had about forty-five people there, a mixed crowd of Republicans and Democrats. I felt like I was well received. Meanwhile the state Republican organization has contributed $1,000 toward my campaign.

CKN: In the past you have said you want to reduce spending. Your Democratic opponent has been instrumental in maintaining support for libraries. Would you cut state spending on libraries?

Dave Feigin: No, libraries are crucial. Although computers are important(Internet), reading books is important.

CKN: Abortion is a "hot button" these days. Are there any situations where you can see the need for an abortion?

Dave Feigin: I am opposed to abortion. That is all I have to say on that topic.

CKN: We have talked in the past about the need for jobs and economic stimuli for this area. Do you have any specific ideas about this?

Dave Feigin: I would like to see a redfish hatchery built, possibly in the Seinhatchee area. The technology is worked out. Federal funds might be available for such a project. Perhaps clam raceways could be used to raise the fry.

CKN: How many votes will it take to win the 10th District seat?

Dave Feigin: It should take about 23,000 votes. I believe there are about 88,000 registered voters. (However, many do not vote.)
