The Cedar Key Woman's Club held its annual Chicken & Rice Dinner Saturday, January 20 from 5 until 7:00. The Chicken & Rice, prepared from an old Cedar Key recipe, was even better than Grandma's, as were the green beans and biscuits. It's hard to serve a Southern tradition to Southerners, but the ladies of the Woman's Club did it. The array of home baked cakes was every sugar addict's dream. The dinner was attended by about 160, who enjoyed laughter and music with their neighbors. The Annual Spaghetti Dinner is coming up on February 17. Shortly after that the Woman's Club will move into their new clubhouse. More news will come as the new clubhouse becomes "home." |
