Today, the federal government approved Governor Rick Scott’s request for a major disaster declaration for Florida due to severe storms and flooding that impacted communities and businesses throughout the state following Hurricane Hermine.

The declaration makes federal funding available to affected individuals in the counties of Citrus, Dixie, Hernando, Hillsborough, Leon, Levy, Pasco, and Pinellas.

Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
