PARADE KICKS OFF CEDAR KEY
SEAFOOD FESTIVAL 2014

The parade started promptly at 11am Saturday morning, October 18th. Led by Police Chief Virgil Sandlin, flags, veterans, various groups and organizations from the Cedar Key School, a marching band from Chiefland High School and the ROTC unit from Williston High School, followed up by many organizations from Cedar Key.  The large crowd of visitor and residents enjoyed it.

After the parade, the focus shifted to the many arts and craft vendors along Second Street and then on to the City Park to enjoy the many the fine choices of Cedar Key Seafood Festival featuring Cedar Key’s Culinary Specialties at the Main Pavilion.

The Culinary Specialties feature was part of the Museum on Main Street project, “The Way We Worked,” that has been presented during the past six weeks by the City of Cedar Key Historical Society Museum and the Florida Humanities Council as part of the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibit.
