The Cedar Key Public Library will host four special "Healthy Cedar Key" days this month, beginning this Wednesday, November 5. Representatives of various health and social services agencies will be present to give information, answer questions and help with applications. Anyone with concerns in any of these areas is encouraged to come for information and one-on-one conversation. The following is a brief look at those who will attend, realizing that some schedules may change and others may be present, as well.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5 , 2014     10 AM TO NOON:

S.H.I.N.E. (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) rep Dick Henson will help Medicare recipients choose their Part D Drug Plans for 2015 and answer questions about Medicare and Part D.

ANOTHER WAY, the domestic violence prevention and intervention program for the region, will have an outreach counselor here to give information about services of the organization and to answer specific questions.

PALMS MEDICAL GROUP will have representatives to give information about the services and programs available through Palms, as well as information about the Affordable Health Care Act for 2015. Although the enrollment period for coverage for next year doesn't begin until Nov. 15, the reps will have information and can answer any questions you may have.

THE CEDAR KEY LIONS CLUB will have representatives available to give out applications for eyeglasses and hearing aids, two programs the club handles each year for Levy County.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2014    10 AM  TO NOON:

DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES rep Pamela Zelinka will be present to help people with applications for food assistance, Medicaid and other programs, as well as answer questions of those who may have specific issues they need addressed.

THE LIONS CLUB will be available to distribute the applications for eyeglasses and hearing aids and services.

TUESDAY, NOV. 18       3 PM TO 5 PM:

DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES - Medicaid, food assistance, other DCF concerns.

ANOTHER WAY, domestic violence information and resources.

LIONS CLUB - applications for eyeglasses and hearing aids.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2014     10 AM TO NOON:

SHINE rep Dick Henson for Medicare Part D

AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE - Navigator from Palms Medical Group - enrollment period begins Nov. 15 and continues through February 15, 2015. Application information and help will be available at this session.

LIONS CLUB - eyeglasses and hearing aids.
